Baby Safe - Do You Think It Helps?

Let’s face it, Baby Safe Babies does not come cheap. It’s a book that you should buy and have in your home to learn and understand the basic methods of how to give a safe birth. This book is a great resource to have for moms, new moms, and doulas.

First, let’s look at some of the mommy items included in the book: twelve first aid tools and equipment, a baby clothes chart, and a list of recommended baby products (bottles, blankets, etc.). I read the book over night when I received it and got the short end of the stick, as they say.

Keep The Baby Safe Organized

I did find some things that could have been better organized, but I understand that for an entire year of research, these were necessary. I also didn’t feel like I was “hooked” in any way because the book wasn’t that difficult to read.

The book has twelve easy checklist items that show you what to expect when a baby is born. They are things like: The baby must be taken to the hospital; they are taught to breath and speak; the baby must be introduced to the world by using clothing and accessories; babies must be nursed and changed; the baby’s parents go shopping together; the baby’s parents go to doctor appointments; the baby is exposed to germs, bacteria, and viruses; the baby’s eyes and ears are cleaned; the baby’s skin is cleaned; also, the baby is fed; the baby is breastfed; the baby is washed; the baby’s diapers are changed; the baby is formula fed; the baby is immunized.

The baby’s skin is examined by a physician; the baby is discharged from the hospital; the baby goes home; the baby’s clothes are replaced; the baby is given baths; the baby is dressed in their own clothing; also, the baby is given milk and food (for the first three months); the baby begins its first few months of life (for the first three months). The items aren’t listed by days, months, or even years, but they all provide a base line for the process that needs to take place for a safe birth.

Here Are Some Of The Baby Safe Items

The twelve items are not a completely logical grouping of practical baby gear that should be used at each stage of your child’s life. However, it seems that a lot of women have problems with the process of being taught about each of these items. In many cases, they just don’t know how to use them.

That being said, this is a great book for a new mom and is very useful for any mom. I’m excited to add it to my collection. And I’m going to wait to have another baby until I have my own.

The illustrations are top notch and very appealing to the eye, and there are a lot of great pictures throughout the book. I especially liked one of a woman taking her first steps at four months. I’m a fitness freak and loved this part.

One thing that bugged me though, was that I felt like there were so many pages full of charts of stuff that I had no interest in learning about. I read about amniotic fluid, fetal development, kidney problems, etc. But when I got to the section about preemies, I found it very, very confusing.

Know More About It

I found it difficult to believe that a book that promised so much and came with a CD containing step-by-step instructions could only help with a very specific segment of the market. If it was going to cover the basics so well, it needed to expand its scope.

But it was one small issue and it actually made me excited to continue reading. It’s not bad, and I know it was a great idea to offer the free booklet with a CD.

You might also want to ask yourself a few questions before you purchase a book. If you’ve read about the issues you’ll probably be able to answer it, but if you haven’t then you might need to think about whether or not you’d be interested in this kind of information. Before buying, also ask yourself, do I have the time, motivation, and skills to actually deliver this kind of knowledge?
